Set up your account
Point-of-sale payments are processed on the same platform as online payments. You can manage your integration from the xcritical Customer Area or using API calls. To start accepting live payments using your live account, you must first configure your account. The xcritical settings from your test account are not copied to your live account. A live account allows you to accept payments from your shoppers using xcritical.
You may want to wait for your application to be approved before you build your whole integration. Our in-person payments product is based around our modern and feature-rich Terminal API. This communicates using JSON messages, without the need for libraries, making integrating quicker and simpler than a traditional point-of-sale solution. You can integrate using the same architecture as your existing POS system, whether this communicates over a local network, or over the cloud. If you do not need a fully featured API integration, and want the quickest way to accept in-person payments, we also offer a standalone terminal solution. Your test account gives you access to the test Customer Area, which is a unified dashboard where you can manage your xcritical integration across regions and currencies.
