| 1 post haec erat dies festus Iudaeorum et ascendit Iesus Hierosolymis | {5:1} After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep [market] a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
| 3 in his iacebat multitudo magna languentium caecorum claudorum aridorum expectantium aquae motum | {5:3} In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
| {5:4} For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. |
5 — 5 | ἦν δέ τις ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖ τριάκοντα καὶ ὀκτὼ ἔτη ἔχων ἐν τῇ ἀσθενείᾳ αὐτοῦ· | 5Edhe atje ishte një njeri, që ishte i sëmurë tridhjetë e tetë vjet. | 5 erat autem quidam homo ibi triginta et octo annos habens in infirmitate sua | {5:5} And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. |
5 — 6 | τοῦτον ἰδὼν ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς κατακείμενον, καὶ γνοὺς ὅτι πολὺν ἤδη χρόνον ἔχει, λέγει αὐτῷ· θέλεις ὑγιὴς γενέσθαι; | 6Jisui kur e pa këtë se po dergjej, edhe mori vesh se tashmë prej shumë kohe ishte i sëmurë, i thotë: A do të shërohesh? | 6 hunc cum vidisset Iesus iacentem et cognovisset quia multum iam tempus habet dicit ei vis sanus fieri | {5:6} When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case,] he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
| 7 respondit ei languidus Domine hominem non habeo ut cum turbata fuerit aqua mittat me in piscinam dum venio enim ego alius ante me descendit | {5:7} The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
| 8Jisui i thotë: Çohu, ngri shtratin tënd, edhe ec. | 8 dicit ei Iesus surge tolle grabattum tuum et ambula | {5:8} Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
| 9Edhe përnjëherë njeriu u shërua, edhe ngriti shtratin e tij, edhe ecte. Edhe atë ditë ishte e shtunë. | 9 et statim sanus factus est homo et sustulit grabattum suum et ambulabat erat autem sabbatum in illo die | {5:9} And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
| 10Judenjtë pra i thoshin atij që u shërua: Eshtë e shtunë. Nuk të lejohet të ngresh shtratin. | 10 dicebant Iudaei illi qui sanatus fuerat sabbatum est non licet tibi tollere grabattum tuum | {5:10} The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry [thy] bed.
| 11 respondit eis qui me fecit sanum ille mihi dixit tolle grabattum tuum et ambula | {5:11} He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
| 12 interrogaverunt ergo eum quis est ille homo qui dixit tibi tolle grabattum tuum et ambula | {5:12} Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in [that] place.
| 14 postea invenit eum Iesus in templo et dixit illi ecce sanus factus es iam noli peccare ne deterius tibi aliquid contingat | {5:14} Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
| 15 abiit ille homo et nuntiavit Iudaeis quia Iesus esset qui fecit eum sanum | {5:15} The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
| 16 propterea persequebantur Iudaei Iesum quia haec faciebat in sabbato | {5:16} And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
| 17Po Jisui iu përgjigj atyre: Ati im punon deri tani, edhe unë punoj. | 17 Iesus autem respondit eis Pater meus usque modo operatur et ego operor | {5:17} But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
| 18 propterea ergo magis quaerebant eum Iudaei interficere quia non solum solvebat sabbatum sed et Patrem suum dicebat Deum aequalem se faciens Deo respondit itaque Iesus et dixit eis | {5:18} Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
| 20Sepse Ati e do Birin, edhe i tregon gjithë ato që ai bën; edhe do t’i tregojë punë më të mëdha se këto, që të çuditeni ju. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
| 21 sicut enim Pater suscitat mortuos et vivificat sic et Filius quos vult vivificat | {5:21} For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them;] even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. | 21 Denn wie der Vater die Toten auferweckt und macht sie lebendig, also auch der Sohn macht lebendig, welche er will. |
5 — 22 | οὐδὲ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ κρίνει οὐδένα, ἀλλὰ τὴν κρίσιν πᾶσαν δέδωκε τῶ υἱῷ, | 22Sepse Ati nuk gjykon asnjë, po gjithë gjyqin ia dha Birit, | 22 neque enim Pater iudicat quemquam sed iudicium omne dedit Filio | {5:22} For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: | 22 Denn der Vater richtet niemand; sondern alles Gericht hat er dem Sohn gegeben, | 22 Ибо Отец и не судит никого, но весь суд отдал Сыну, |
That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
| 24 amen amen dico vobis quia qui verbum meum audit et credit ei qui misit me habet vitam aeternam et in iudicium non venit sed transit a morte in vitam | {5:24} Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. |
5 — 25 | ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα, καὶ νῦν ἐστιν, ὅτε οἱ νεκροὶ ἀκούσονται τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ, | 25Me të vërtetë, me të vërtetë po ju them juve, se vjen një orë, edhe tani është, kur të vdekurit kanë për të dëgjuar zërin e të Birit të Perëndisë, edhe ata që do të dëgjojnë do të rrojnë. | 25 amen amen dico vobis quia venit hora et nunc est quando mortui audient vocem Filii Dei et qui audierint vivent | {5:25} Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. |
ὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἔχει ζωὴν ἐν ἑαυτῷ, οὕτως ἔδωκε καὶ τῷ υἱῷ ζωὴν ἔχειν ἐν ἑαυτῷ· | 26Sepse sikurse Ati ka jetë në veten e tij, kështu i dha edhe të Birit të ketë jetë në veten e tij, | 26 sicut enim Pater habet vitam in semet ipso sic dedit et Filio vitam habere in semet ipso | {5:26} For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; | 26 Denn wie der Vater hat das Leben in ihm selber, also hat er dem Sohn gegeben, das Leben zu haben in ihm selber, | 26 Ибо, как Отец имеет жизнь в Самом Себе, так и Сыну дал иметь жизнь в Самом Себе. |
| 27 et potestatem dedit ei et iudicium facere quia Filius hominis est | {5:27} And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. |
5 — 28 | μὴ θαυμάζετε τοῦτο· ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα ἐν ᾗ πάντες οἱ ἐν τοῖς μνημείοις ἀκούσονται τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ, | 28Mos u çuditni për këtë; se vjen një orë, në të cilën të gjithë ata që janë nëpër varret do të dëgjojnë zërin e tij, | 28 nolite mirari hoc quia venit hora in qua omnes qui in monumentis sunt audient vocem eius | {5:28} Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, | 28 Verwundert euch des nicht, denn es kommt die Stunde, in welcher alle, die in den Gräbern sind, werden seine Stimme hören, | 28 Не дивитесь сему; ибо наступает время, в которое все, находящиеся в гробах, услышат глас Сына Божия; |
| 29 et procedent qui bona fecerunt in resurrectionem vitae qui vero mala egerunt in resurrectionem iudicii | {5:29} And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
| 30 non possum ego a me ipso facere quicquam sicut audio iudico et iudicium meum iustum est quia non quaero voluntatem meam sed voluntatem eius qui misit me | {5:30} I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
| 31 si ego testimonium perhibeo de me testimonium meum non est verum | {5:31} If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
| 32 alius est qui testimonium perhibet de me et scio quia verum est testimonium quod perhibet de me | {5:32} There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
| 33 vos misistis ad Iohannem et testimonium perhibuit veritati | {5:33} Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
| 34 ego autem non ab homine testimonium accipio sed haec dico ut vos salvi sitis | {5:34} But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
| 36 ego autem habeo testimonium maius Iohanne opera enim quae dedit mihi Pater ut perficiam ea ipsa opera quae ego facio testimonium perhibent de me quia Pater me misit | {5:36} But I have greater witness than [that] of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
As zërin e tij s’e keni dëgjuar kurrë deri tani, as pamjen e tij s’e keni parë. | 37 et qui misit me Pater ipse testimonium perhibuit de me neque vocem eius umquam audistis neque speciem eius vidistis | {5:37} And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
| 39 scrutamini scripturas quia vos putatis in ipsis vitam aeternam habere et illae sunt quae testimonium perhibent de me | {5:39} Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. | 39 Suchet in der Schrift; denn ihr meinet, ihr habet das ewige Leben darin; und sie ist’s, die von mir zeuget; | 39 Исследуйте Писания, ибо вы думаете чрез них иметь жизнь вечную; а они свидетельствуют о Мне. |
| 40 et non vultis venire ad me ut vitam habeatis | {5:40} And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
| 41 claritatem ab hominibus non accipio | {5:41} I receive not honour from men.
| 42Por ju njoha ju se s’keni dashurinë e Perëndisë në veten tuaj. | 42 sed cognovi vos quia dilectionem Dei non habetis in vobis | {5:42} But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
| 43 ego veni in nomine Patris mei et non accipitis me si alius venerit in nomine suo illum accipietis | {5:43} I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only?
| 45Mos kujtoni se unë do t’ju akuzoj tek Ati. Ka kush t’ju akuzojë, Moisiu, tek i cili ju shpresuat. | 45 nolite putare quia ego accusaturus sim vos apud Patrem est qui accuset vos Moses in quo vos speratis | {5:45} Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] that accuseth you, [even] Moses, in whom ye trust.
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. |
5 — 47 | εἰ δὲ τοῖς ἐκείνου γράμμασιν οὐ πιστεύετε, πῶς τοῖς ἐμοῖς ῥήμασι πιστεύσετε; | 47Por në qoftë se nuk u besoni shkronjave të tij, si do t’u besoni fjalëve të mia? | 47 si autem illius litteris non creditis quomodo meis verbis credetis | {5:47} But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? |
